  5. AIM Benchmark Suite III is a software tool for measuring and comparing the
  6. system performance of multi-user, multiprocessor UNIX systems. Suite III uses
  7. 31 functional tests to evaluate multi-user and multiprocess or system
  8. performance under user-defined application mixes such as accounting, compiling,
  9. database management, graphics, word processing, etc. The functional tests can
  10. also be used to evaluate system performance under user-defined functional mixes
  11. consisting of the following elements: disk, floating point, logic, math, pipe,
  12. RAM, tty. Provides graphic reports showing multi-user response time and user
  13. throughput. Measures the effects of commonly used system resources such as TTY
  14. input and Line Printer Use. Contains results database of several UNIX systems
  15. for comparison.
